If we're talking about getting rid of paying our elected officials because they have money already, that would only make things worse for the middle and lower class because the only ones that could afford to become politicians WOULD be the rich, and thus we aren't solving the problem in the first place. No family/candidate could afford to become a politician if that was the case...no matter if they had some of the greatest ideas for reforms.
