If the policy has been accepted in the past it probably can not be brought up as an issue at this time. Being that it comes via the mail, it is hardly unexpected that it might be a day or two late considering the time of year. Perhaps if you need it on time, the boss will consider letting your husband just pick his check up on payday. Can’t say anything but no…so nothing to lose.
sounds like your husband works for a small business. many times, small businesses have a difficult time to make payroll “on time” especially if he is having a difficult time getting invoices paid to him on time.
be glad you husband is getting paid.
if you have a complaint, contact the “wage and hour board” in your state. if you complain loud enough, he will shut the doors.
Well remember thursday was a federal holiday being thanksgiving and all so you’ll probably get the check today. If you dont get the check by monday, i’d have your husnad check with the payroll department and make sure checks were issued on time. there is nothing illegal with issuing pay checks a little late and of course there could be delays with the postal service as well. Only thing is if a company continues to issue pay checks late then they end up with disgruntled and unhappy employees.
In my State an employer can mail a paycheck to an employee on payday, IF the employee agrees, otherwise the employer must hand them to the employee on the payday, at the place of work, or deposit them into the employees bank accounts on payday. If the employee does not work on payday (For example if your husband works Saturday and Sunday and gets Monday and Tuesday off) he may not charge the employer for his time in coming in to get it.
you should have your paycheck on payday
Nothing illegal here. If the checks are slow in the mail due to holidays, etc., that’s inconvenient but not illegal.

Depends on State law.
